‘‘Chorsu’’ Bazaar

"Chorsu" Bazaar is one of the largest bazaars in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, located in "Eski shahar", the old part of Tashkent, on Navoi Street in the Almazar district. "Chorsu" Bazaar was known in the Middle Ages and was of great importance on the Great Silk Road Route. In the central part of the bazaar ceiling covered with ornaments is a monumental domed structure with a diameter of 300-350 meters - a winter three-tier bazaar building with an elevator system. On the lower tier are located basement halls with numerous auxiliary rooms. Merchandise stalls are located on the middle and upper floors. The Bazaar shopping rows are divided according to the types of goods sold in them: vegetables, fruits, nuts, oriental sweets, spices, cereals. There are separate pavilions for clothing and housewares.

Alisher Navoi Theater

Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theater of the Republic of Uzbekistan was founded in 1939. The theater building was erected on the site of the former Voskresensk Bazaar, a rectangular square of 7 hectares. According A. V. Shchusev’s design, the theater is framed by a park square with numerous colorful flowerbeds, parterre greenery, valuable ornamental trees and a large pond-fountain reminiscent of traditional Uzbek houses. The premiere of M. Ashrafi's opera "Buran" took place in 1939 on the base of the Uzbek musical theater. Today the theater is the leading theater in the country with a rich program of opera and ballet. Chief Choirmaster is Suleyman Shadmanov, Chief Choreographer is Andris Liepa, and Theater Director is People's Artiste Ruz Ramiz Usmanov.

Kukeldash Madrasah

The largest of the 23 madrasahs of Old Tashkent, it was built no later than 1569 by Minister of the Tashkent Sheibanid sultans Barak Khan and Dervish Khan, who bore the nickname "Kukeldash". The madrasah was built on the hill of the former Binket shahristan (inner city), on the remains of the southern fortress wall rampart. Its 15.7 m high main portal leads to the courtyard bounded by two-story dormitories in the form of cells - hujrs. Each cell consists of a room and an entrance niche - an aivan. Two or three students occupied one room. From its towers (guldasta) at the corners of the main portal, muezzins, or azanchi, call the faithful to worship (prayer).

Humo Arena

The first ice palace in Uzbekistan, it hosts concerts of international level, ice shows, hockey league games and other sports competitions. The complex is located on land area of 8.77 ha, and consists of the main building of the ice arena, a children's area, a Pan-Asian restaurant on the 3rd floor of the ice complex, a sports bar, a fitness center, a multistorey parking for spectators for 1,400 vehicles.

Mustakillik Square

The central square of Tashkent, where festive events and military parades are held on the days of solemn events and public holidays. Administrative buildings of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Senate are located on this square. The entrance to Mustakillik Square is decorated with the «Ezgulik» (Good and Noble Aspirations) arch, over which storks soar upwards. The Monument of Independence and the Monument to the Happy Mother, which were made by sculptors Ilkhom and Kamol Jabbarovs. Also on the square is a memorial - Memory and Honor Square dedicated to those who did not return from the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War. Their names are inscribed in golden letters in the "Book of Memory", which is found here. The memorial represents the figure of a Grieving Mother bowing at the eternal flame who did not wait for her children to return from the war fronts.
